EPIC AXES WAS BUILT AROUND A SIMPLE IDEA: GREAT INSTRUMENTS DESERVE REAL CARE – AND GREAT PLAYERS DESERVE GUITARS THAT INSPIRE.

EPIC AXES is a small, hands-on workshop in Los Angeles led by Roman Bulakhov – a touring and studio guitarist with years of real stage experience and a deep understanding of what a professional instrument should feel like. We focus primarily on importing guitars directly from Japan – a market known for exceptional craftsmanship, consistency, and rare models that never reach U.S. stores.

Our team searches for instruments that stand out not only in tone, but also in appearance and character. We hunt for visually striking guitars with presence and personality, as well as timeless classics, best-sellers, and universally trusted standards. Each guitar goes through a careful in-house process in the EPIC AXES workshop: detailed cleaning, inspection, setup, electronics check, fretwork touch-ups, and the small adjustments that make a guitar feel “right.” For deeper or highly specialized work, we collaborate with experienced luthiers and trusted professional repair shops across Los Angeles. This allows us to stay boutique and personal while ensuring top-tier craftsmanship when needed.

The EPIC AXES process is intentionally small and closely managed. Every instrument is evaluated, adjusted, and prepared inside our Los Angeles workshop with the same level of attention we expect from guitars used on stage or in a studio session. When a guitar requires advanced or highly specialized work, we rely on experienced partner luthiers across Los Angeles – trusted professionals known for precision, consistency, and high-level craftsmanship.
