1980 Gibson ES Artist × Moog 🎸 Back in the late ’ 1980 Gibson ES Artist × Moog 🎸

Back in the late ’70s, Gibson teamed up with legendary synthesizer pioneer Moog to push the boundaries of what an electric guitar could do.

The result was the ES Artist, introduced in 1979 - a unique semi-hollow guitar featuring active Moog-designed electronics, onboard compression, expansion, and a bright mode.

It was one of Gibson’s most ambitious experiments, blending traditional guitar craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology of the era.

A rare piece of guitar history, built in the USA in 1980.

No serial number. Just clues. 👀 This early Greco No serial number. Just clues. 👀

This early Greco takes us back to 1975–76, when many of their guitars still left the factory without serial numbers.

The original Maxon pickups? Stamped November 17, 1975.

Almost 50 years later, it’s still doing exactly what it was built to do! 🇯🇵🎸

A little piece of ’90s Japanese guitar history 🇯🇵 A little piece of ’90s Japanese guitar history 🇯🇵

1996 Orville LPS-80F - the “F” stands for Photo Flame.

A very ’90s way of getting a crazy figured Les Paul top, and honestly… it still looks killer 30 years later.

In the late ’70s, Japan was getting seriously good In the late ’70s, Japan was getting seriously good at building guitars🔥

Brands like Greco weren’t just making affordable alternatives anymore - they were building instruments good enough to become collectible decades later.

This 1979 Greco FV-600 came from that era: a Japanese take on the legendary Flying V, built by FujiGen and loaded with Maxon-made U-1000 humbuckers.

Almost 50 years later, these guitars have become vintage classics of their own.

And this one survived beautifully🇯🇵⚡️

1989-1990 Orville SG-65 🇯🇵 A proper Japanese-made 1989-1990 Orville SG-65 🇯🇵

A proper Japanese-made SG from Gibson’s own Orville era - built at the Terada factory and originally made for the Japanese market.

Mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard, original Orville humbuckers, and that classic slim ’60s SG feel. Lightweight, resonant, aggressive when you want it to be, but surprisingly articulate.

Basically, vintage Japanese craftsmanship with all the character you want from a great SG.
